For a change of pace from city life, a few friends of mine and I decided to visit a Buddhist Temple at Lac Daumesnil earlier this afternoon. The temples are secluded from the rest of the park by high gates and anyone living outside of the monestary is not able to enter except for Sunday afternoons. Admission was free and we were able to walk around for a while and eat some delicious authentic Asian cuisine. We sat in on a ceremony inside the largest temple for about an hour. All of the monks and visitors were very excited about a very old monk that was able to join them. With him he brought what must have been an extremely important and preserved golden artifact that was placed inside of the Buddha statue. It was a very special day for many of the Buddhist followers. I am glad that we were there to experience it with them.

One Week Down
I have offically completed one week at the American Business School. I am taking five business related courses this semester. This school really pushes students to take an international perspective on economics, finance and business in general. There are over 75 nationalities here and each student has something to bring to the discussion of how business is conducted differently in their country. With such a clash of norms and culture in one classroom, students actually open up for duscussion much more. Every student is eager to learn about other cultures and wants to share theirs as well. The school system here is strict. Even in french culture, the school does not tolerate tardiness or absences. I would recommend this school to anyone seeking international experience. The staff and professors are very well qualified and most went to very prestigious American Universities. You will learn so much outside of the books here, not only about other cultures and people but also about yourself.
